DATA SAFETY IN SES CELLULAR APPLICATIONS

SES has no direct contact with application end-users.

SELECT ENTRY VIDEO/Select SEVA

This is a one-directional video phone calling service allowing visitors at community entrance to video call a resident from a community entrance controller to gain permission to enter the premises. The service contacts the installed Select Entry Video app installed on the resident’s phone through cloud communications services.

Information Used by Service: Community residents who installed this app gave prior written permission to their Community Management to use this service. When doing so they agreed to allow their Community Management to share their phone number and publicly displayed directory name to third parties (only the local Equipment Dealer/Installer maintaining the location and SES) to be included in a list of video callees in the Select Entry Video cloud service.

Only the IP address of the cell phone is collected and used by the app for registration with Select Entry Video servers. The phone number and directory name are not collected by the app as they were already provided by the resident.

Opt-Out: Residents/users can opt out simply by logging out/uninstalling the app and notifying their Community Management to update the panel directory and remove cloud registration data, which is not retained once removed.

App Permissions Required: Record Audio; Make and Manage Phone Calls. The app needs access to the phone’s microphone and speakers to enable seamless operation of incoming video calls.

Storage Permissions Required: Record Audio. The app requires access to the phone’s storage for temporary buffering of incoming audio and video, to save essential non-personal data such as user preferences, and at user discretion, service application logs which contain no personally identifiable information.

Battery Optimization Exception: Select Entry Video Battery Optimization: Unrestricted. To ensure the app runs uninterrupted in the background when the phone is idle or in locked mode, the user will be requested to grant unrestricted battery optimization. If this is not granted, the app will stop working regularly preventing video calls from being received and the user will have to log back in to regain functionality.
